Cherries manager Andoni Iraola has targeted a return date of Oct. 19 against Arsenal for Adams to make his return to the pitch.

USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams is officially back for Bournemouth, Andoni Iraola has confirmed.

Speaking to BBC Sport Tuesday, the Cherries boss confirmed that during the international break, the U.S. international will be training with the senior team with a goal to return against Arsenal in their next Premier League match.

"He’s coming from a period of 18-20 months where he has played very little football, so we cannot rush anything. He has completed all the checks and is ready to train with the group. I hope he’s going to help us from the Arsenal game."

Adams has been struggling with injuries since Spring 2023, and has only made one start for since arriving during the summer transfer window that year.

After making three appearances at Copa America 2024 for the USMNT, he underwent back surgery after their Group Stage exit in the tournament to help with recovery from back spasms he was suffering late in the Premier League campaign.

He's since been sidelined, but now, is looking to make an emphatic comeback for club and country. He could be a boost as upcoming schedule does not get easier. Their next three matches come against the Gunners, Aston Villa and Manchester City – all of whom sit in the top-five spots in the league at the moment.

During the 2023-24 campaign, Adams made just four-total appearances for the Cherries, accumulating 148 minutes of competitive play. Three of those appearances were in the Premier League, while one was a substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup.
