McKennie was, however, absorbed back into the Juve fold by Massimiliano Allegri and has rewarded that show of faith with a series of consistent performances. His versatility has been put to good use, with the 25-year-old becoming an important cog in the Bianconeri’s well-oiled machine.

Former Juve star Mark Iuliano is among those to have been impressed by the American’s attitude and application, with doubters being turned into believers. Iluliano has told when casting an eye over the class of 2023-24 at Allianz Stadium: “I also wanted to congratulate McKennie, who is a returning horse that no one believed in and who is instead having a good championship. He has a good sense of position and puts a lot of heart into it, he never gives up.”
