Arsenal fans have slammed BT Sport pundit and former Tottenham Hotspur ace Jermaine Jenas over his punditry skills in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over League One side Portsmouth in the FA Cup round-of-sixteen last night.
Jenas gave the man-of-the-match award to defender David Luiz yet there were arguably more impressive performances going forward for the Gunners considering the fact WhoScored rated the likes of Sokratis and Eddie Nketiah higher. Indeed, he was also criticised for his punditry in general by Arsenal fans on Twitter.
The Gunners did manage to keep a clean sheet but the first half was far from easy against a side two divisions below them. PompeyÂmanaged eleven shots on the Arsenal goal and most of them came in the first half, so they were perhaps lucky to be 1-0 up at half-time through a Sokratis volley.
Youngster Reiss Nelson grabbed two assists on a night that also saw Nketiah score (highlights via BBC) and, throughout the game, fans were tearing into Jenas. With that in mind, here’s a closer look at some of the reaction, as one supporter lambasted their former rival as a ‘waste of space’.
