The Magpies are prepared to make the 23-year-old their highest-paid player by offering him a deal worth £9 million per season, the reports. The club have already opened talks with the winger following uncertainty around his future over the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are reported to be monitoring the England international and could make a move for him next year, while Newcastle were prepared to offer Gordon to Liverpool in the summer, only for the Reds to turn them down despite holding an interest in signing him.
