Antony is joining Manchester United for £85 million ($99m) from Ajax, meaning that he will become just the tenth Brazilian to don the club's famous red shirt. He is being reunited with a familiar coach as Erik ten Hag seeks to bolster his attacking unit at Old Trafford.
Who are the other Samba stars to have played for the Red Devils, and how did they do? GOAL ranks United's previous Brazilians from their time on the books of Premier League heavyweights as Antony joins the fold…

A hot prospect that United bought into with the hope of turning him into a superstar, Possebon joined from Internacional in January 2008 and made his debut when replacing Ryan Giggs in a Premier League meeting with Newcastle in the August of that year.
Possebon collected Community Shield and League Cup winners’ medals alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, but suffered a serious injury and was offloaded after making just eight appearances.

Having won the World Cup in 2002, Kleberson made history a year later when becoming the first Brazilian to represent Manchester United.
He had attracted interest from leading sides across Europe, but opted to join the Red Devils for £6.5 million ($8m) as a midfield replacement for Juan Sebastian Veron.
An unfortunate injury was picked up in just his second outing for the club and he would make only 30 appearances in total before joining Besiktas in 2005.

The talented playmaker joined United’s academy ranks in 2011 and landed a first professional contract two years later.
He made his senior debut against MK Dons in August 2014, the first of 75 total appearances for the Red Devils.
Pereira is a Brazil international despite being born in Belgium and spent the last two seasons out on loan in South America at Flamengo before leaving United permanently to join Fulham ahead of the 2022-23 season.

With a Brazilian theme running through United's business in the summer of 2022, Casemiro arrived in England a matter of weeks before Antony.
It is still far too early to pass judgement on whether he will flourish or flop at Old Trafford, as he is still finding his feet, but there is no doubting his pedigree.
A vastly-experienced midfielder claimed three La Liga titles and five Champions League crowns during nine memorable years with Real Madrid and adds an important winning mentality to Erik ten Hag's squad.
