Kyle Walker-Peters has given his verdict on his Southampton debut when uploading a post to Instagram.

Last month, the England U21 international signed for the Saints on loan from Tottenham until the end of the campaign, and made his first appearance for the club in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Burnley.

Goals from Ashley Westwood and Matěj Vydra sandwiched Danny Ings’ 18th strike of the season to hand Sean Dyche’s men the three points, although the focus was largely on Walker-Peters.

The 22-year-old played 73 minutes before being replaced by Michael Obafemi, completing three dribbles – no player on the pitch recorded more – while he also made two tackles and one clearance.

When analysing his debut, Walker-Peters said: “Despite the result, really happy to make my @southamptonfc debut yesterday. We go again next Saturday! 💪🏾 #SaintsFC”.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side now sit 12th with 31 points to their name, nine points off fifth place and seven points above the relegation zone.
